To Friends and Family:
A while back, I explained that in the near future I would no longer be in a position to continue to write the “Road to Baghdad”column in this newspaper because my situation would be changing and be more restrictive. Now that the dust has settled and the changes have occurred, I will bring you up to date on my life here in Iraq.
Earlier this year I was asked to return to Federal Service as a GS-15 and take over as Division Chief of the unit I have worked with since arriving in Iraq. The unit is a mixture of approximately 30 military and civilians who are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in various fields of law enforcement and intelligence; i.e evidence, forensics, intelligence analysis, surveillance, investigations and so forth.
